As I sit here and read and watch what is happening in Gaza I cannot help but be brought to tears by the scenes of Israeli police and army personnel pulling people out of synagogues and homes and other buildings. These poor people, who built their lives in these settlements, are watching as their lives are being ripped asunder…all in the name of peace with a people that a) have no homeland and b) who are not interested in peace at all…short of driving all Jews into the sea.
Where is the Palestinian “silent majority?” Those who apparently want peace with Israel and are willing to accept a two-state solution. Where are they? I don’t hear their voices from the shouts of the Palestinian Authority’s call of “Today Gaza, tomorrow the West Bank and Jerusalem.” Or how about how Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad are now shifting their efforts to the West Bank even more. They are preparing to continue their terrorist activities (and yes, they are TERRORISTS! They are NOT freedom fighters. They are NOT militants. They are Terrorists!) against a civilian population even within the green line. They have said so themselves.
And now, Ms. Condoleeza Rice has chimed in as well. She states:

“Everyone empathizes with what the Israelis are facing. It cannot be Gaza only.”

Geez…thanks a lot Condie…why don’t you just encourage Hamas and Islamic Jihad and the Al Aksa Martyr’s Brigade even more. It should be Gaza only so long as the Palestinian Authority refuses to do it’s legal duty to prevent Palestinian terrorism. But they’re a broken record these days. They simply claim impotence in controlling the terrorist groups and then utilize them as form of foreign policy. They sit there and “condemn” terrorist acts and reap the rewards. Why don’t they just come out and admit it.
No, Condie. It should be only Gaza. Until the Palestinian Authority can prove that they can eliminate , not just control, these groups then Israel should not give another inch of land back to these thugs.
